The idea

Whoever finds the tag should learn only what you chose to show — a name, a number, a short note. The scan opens one small page. The rest stays off it.
It does not follow the object. It only helps the finder tell you where it is now. The same tag works on a parcel, a keyring, a desk, or anything you want returned.
